A workshop dedicated to theatre and dance led by the master Andres Acevedo, designed to engage participants in a creative exploration of performance art.
Developed by Japanese director Tadashi Sukuki, together with his company SCOT, this training approach places the actor at the core of theatrical experience.
The method seeks to awaken the instinctive energy often suppressed in everyday life by working with essential yet subtle mechanisms such as breath, energy flow, and the center of gravity. Through this process, performers expand their physical and vocal presence, deepen emotional engagement, and stimulate creativity, fostering a dynamic dialogue between actors and audiences that transcends language and cultural barriers.
Drawing on a contemporary reinterpretation of classical Japanese theatrical traditions and enriched by influences from Kathakali, Balinese theatre, Western ballet, and modern dance, Suzuki training offers a wide range of exercises centered on the relationship between the feet and the ground, exploring different qualities of contact and support.
Its demanding physical, vocal, and emotional nature supports multiple avenues of artistic growth. The training highlights the importance of sustained work on the actor’s instrument while developing the ability to generate, absorb, and project energy capable of transforming the stage into a space that extends beyond everyday reality.
