The performance Liver by Teodora Kipa draws inspiration from Theodore Dostoevsky’s novel Notes from the Underground to explore the dark depths of the human psyche, the ego, and existential loneliness.

Through an immersive choreography that blends electronic music, movement, and visual symbolism, the artist explored the possibility of escaping selfishness and self-destructive behaviour.

The liver – an organ of regeneration but also of intoxication – becomes the central metaphor of the performance. Enclosed within a transparent sphere that gradually fogs up until it becomes invisible, the performer embodies inner isolation, suffering, and the illusion of human self-sufficiency. This sensory and philosophical work offers a poetic reflection on human fragility, dependence, and the need for change.
